Carcass traits and meat quality of Brangus × Zebu steers in grazing systems receiving supplementation

چکیده

The use of supplements eliminates deficiencies imposed by pasture, increases weight gain in animals and maximizes profits from the activity. objective this study was to evaluate performance, carcass traits meat quality steers grazing systems that received or did not receive a protein energy supplement at level 0.6 % body weight. experiment lasted 160 days included 36 Brangus × Zebu animals. Eighteen supplementation another eighteen supplementation. Carcasses were evaluated for yield, loin eye area, fat thickness length. assessment shear force, myofibril fragmentation index, color, exudative losses collagen. supplemented showed higher values (p < 0.0001). Supplementation improved color = 0.0434) increased amount soluble collagen 0.0456). pasture system efficiency muscle deposition these when compared supplemented.

Effect of leptin gene polymorphisms on growth, slaughter and meat quality traits of grazing Brangus steers.

Leptin is a hormone that affects the regulation of feed intake, energy balance and body composition in mammals. Several polymorphisms in the bovine leptin gene have been associated with phenotypic variance of these traits. We evaluated two known single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the leptin gene of 253 grazing Brangus steers. Brangus is a 5/8 Angus-3/8 Brahman composite. Data were collec...

Genetic markers of body composition and carcass quality in grazing Brangus steers.

The somatotropic axis is a major regulatory pathway of energy metabolism during postnatal growth in mammals. Genes involved in this pathway influence many economically important traits. The association of selected SNPs in these genes with carcass traits was examined in grazing Brangus steers. These traits included final live weight, ultrasound backfat thickness (UBFT), rib-eye area, kidne...

Effect of mixed hay supplementation during fattening on carcass traits and meat quality of Hanwoo steers

BACKGROUND This study was aim to observe the effects of feeding mixed local hay (MH) consisted of 55% orchard grass (Dactylis glomerata L.), 35% tall fescue (Festuca arundinacea) and 10% red clover (Trifolium pratense) to Hanwoo steers on performance, carcass characteristics and meat quality (longissimus thoracis) compared with feeding imported timothy hay (TH) and local rice straw (RS). Effect of manganese supplementation and source on carcass traits, meat quality, and lipid oxidation in broilers.

An experiment was conducted using a total of 336 one-day-old, Arbor Acres commercial male broilers to investigate the effect of dietary Mn supplementation on carcass traits, meat quality, lipid oxidation, relative enzyme activities in abdominal fat and meat, and Mn-containing superoxide dismutase (MnSOD) mRNA level in meat. Broilers were randomly allotted by BW to 1 of 8 replicate cages (6 chic...

Corn oil supplementation to steers grazing endophyte-free tall fescue. I. Effects on in vivo digestibility, performance, and carcass traits.

Eighteen Angus steers (438 +/- 4 kg of BW) were supplemented with varying levels of corn oil (0 g/kg of BW, none; 0.75 g/kg of BW, MED; or 1.5 g/kg of BW, HI) on rotationally stocked, endophyte-free tall fescue to determine the effect of supplemental oil level on in vivo digestibility, intake, performance, and carcass traits. Pelleted cottonseed hulls were used as a carrier for the oil suppleme...
